For years, the public has been hearing conflicting information regarding the future of Trenton High. What follows is a summary of the information that has been presented to the public. The information has been gathered largely from attending public meetings and from the Trenton Times and is divided into the following sections:

I. May 1998-October 2003
The Abbott Decision to State Approval of the Renovation


II.  September 2004-April 2005
Upheaval at Trenton High to Fiscal Waste at the SCC

III.  May 2005-August 2007
Trenton Fights for its Money to the Demise of the SCC

IV.  October 2007-Present
The Board of Education "Abandons" Trenton High and the Renovation

Abbreviations
BOE: Trenton Board of Education
CCH: Clarke Caton Hintz, the architectural firm in charge of the Trenton High project.
DOE: New Jersey Department of Education
EDA: New Jersey Economic Development Authority. This state agency was initially charged with overseeing school construction. In July 2002, the SCC was created to oversee statewide school construction.
FAB:  Facilities Advisory Board. The FAB works for the School District and is the liaison between the BOE and the SDA.
NJDEP: New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. This state agency ensures that that the SDA meets its environmental obligations under New Jersey Executive Order No. 215.
SDA: New Jersey Schools Development Authority. This state agency is in charge of school construction. They were formerly known as the New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation (SCC).
TCHS: Trenton Central High School .

Definitions
Long Range Facilities Plan (LRFP): this document outlines the Trenton School District's educational needs and how the existing school facilities can meet those needs. The existing LRFP calls for the renovation of TCHS and the construction of two new small schools .

Program Model: this is a spreadsheet, a little more than two pages long. It outlines class sizes for different educational programs and the proposed size of different spaces within the proposed building (i.e. cafeteria, gymnasium, etc.). The current Program Model calls for a new high school on the site of TCHS for 1300 students.
